I’m Erin Heald, LMHC, NCC, providing outpatient mental health counseling in North Tonawanda, NY and throughout Western New York, with virtual services available across New York State. I work with children, adolescents, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, neurodevelopmental differences, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. My approach is steady, collaborative, and focused on building clarity, regulation, and meaningful change.
My work is shaped by a strong interest in how the nervous system responds to stress, trauma, and environment, and how that shows up in everyday life.
I bring over 15 years of experience working with families, children, and adults across a range of settings, including education, inpatient hospitalization, recreational and therapeutic programs, and case management. I have been providing outpatient mental health counseling since 2023.
I’m drawn to work that helps people slow down and make sense of what they’ve been carrying, especially when things feel overwhelming, stuck, or difficult to put into words. I approach therapy in a way that is steady, collaborative, and intentionally paced.
My clinical focus includes trauma, anxiety, neurodevelopmental differences, and identity-related stress. My approach is trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and LGBTQIA+ affirming, grounded in respect for each person’s lived experience.
I integrate approaches such as EMDR and nervous system focused work, including the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), when appropriate. I’m interested in how these approaches can support regulation and create a stronger foundation for therapy.
Outside of my clinical work, I’m also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and enjoy hatha, yin, and restorative yoga with a focus on accessibility, along with meditation and breathwork for grounding. I value time with my family and being outdoors when the weather allows. At home, life includes my dogs, Freya and Knox, and my cat, Walter. I enjoy reading across genres, music from metal to pop, good coffee or matcha, and embracing a slightly chaotic, neurodivergent way of being. GO BILLS!
